The main objective of this course is to introduce students to the historical, economic, artistic, social and religious parts of Seville through its important and several monuments. Students will study about the monuments and works of art significant in relation to global art.
LAB FEE: Students will have to pay 80€ to cover all entry fees during the visits.
Through this course, students will be introduced to the opportunities and challenges corporations face when doing business internationally and identify strategies and practices to manage effectively in a global environment. In particular, students will be exposed to, and encouraged to critically think about, international management topics such as the global business environment, ethics and corporate social responsibility, culture, international strategy and entry, organizational behavior across cultures, and international human resource management issues. In the end, students develop an understanding of, and appreciation for, culture and its impact on management and strategies for managing in a complex, global environment.
MGT/MKT 301 Business Communication (3 Credits)
This course explores different genres of written and oral communication employed in the business environment. Emphasis is placed on utilizing communication strategies that are tailored to both the audience and the organizational context in which the communication takes place. The ethical implications of communication within a business environment are also considered. This course develops a process approach to writing, which moves from planning through revision and final editing in producing business-related documents. Students are also introduced to communication techniques that enhance productivity within groups as well as develop the ability to write as a team and create presentations that flow seamlessly.
A program of instruction to enhance participation in physical activities throughout one's lifetime. The primary emphases for specific activities may include acquiring a knowledge base, learning new skills and/or refining skills, developing components of health-related fitness, enhancing affective skills.
Practical experience in an exercise science setting or formal observation in a clinical setting. Experiences provided may include activities such as exercise leadership, coaching, assisting with fitness assessment and exercise prescription, exercise research, clinical observation, etc. Repeatable for credit - maximum six.
Prerequisite: admission to the exercise sport science major - fitness or pre-professional emphasis.
Theory of coaching specific competitive sports. Coaching and directing youth, club, inter-scholastic and intercollegiate sports programs. Theory of coaching the following sports will be offered on a rotational basis: baseball/softball, basketball, football, gymnastics, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field/cross country, volleyball, and wrestling. A competitive background in and fundamental knowledge of the sport is highly recommended. Repeatable for credit - maximum four.
Aids the prospective coach to better understand the application of psychological concepts to the coaching of sports. Emphasis will be on the methods of improving the performance of athletes through a better understanding of the factors affecting teaching and learning in athletics.

This course offers the students a general overview of Spanish civilization from the beginning up to contemporary times. The course not only covers the development of the history in general, but it also strengthens the connection between the different structures that grow in any human community: economical activities, social and political organizations, culture, ideology, artistic, literary and religious activities. The objective is that the student understands the diversity of the country.
Prerequisite: 5 semesters of college-level Spanish.

This course is designed to improve the student´s knowledge of the historical, artistics, social and religious aspects of Seville, Córdoba and Granada. The city itself is used as the main classroom or textbook for this course, been that the students will visit different places everyday that have made these cities so important in Spanish history and in Art. The students will also be able to appreciate the cultural and architectural impact of diverse cultures that have been imposed in Andalucía for centuries.
This course can be taken in English or Spanish.
If this course is taken in Spanish it will be equivalent to the SPA 354 Artistic Expression and Society in the Spanish-Speaking World (3 Credits) course.

SPANISH LANGUAGES-01 Spanish Language and Culture I (3 credits)
Designed for students with little prior knowledge of Spanish, this course builds the skills needed to communicate confidently in everyday situations during their stay in Seville. Alongside language instruction, students gain essential cultural insights to help them integrate into Spanish life. Taking full advantage of the study-abroad experience, the course includes guided out-of-class activities that enhance both linguistic and intercultural competence. By the end of the course, students will reach an A2/B1.1 level (high beginner to low intermediate) according to the CEFR.Prerequisite: 3 years of high-school Spanish or 2 semesters of college-level Spanish.
S-02 Spanish Language and Culture II (3 credits)
This intensive three-week course is designed for students with at least three semesters of university-level Spanish. Focusing on building confidence and fluency for daily life and social interaction in Seville, the course expands grammatical knowledge and communicative competence through a fully immersive cultural experience. Using a communicative, task-based approach, students engage in experiential learning that includes co-curricular activities and field trips, promoting both linguistic and intercultural development. When possible, team projects incorporate elements of Challenge-Based Learning and Design Thinking.Prerequisite: 4 years of high-school Spanish or 3 semesters of college-level Spanish.
S-03 Spanish Language and Culture III (3 credits)
Designed for students with a strong foundation in Spanish, this course deepens language skills through the study of Spain’s history and culture as reflected in its literature, music, visual arts, and architecture. Experiential learning, including out-of-class activities during class time, promotes both linguistic and intercultural competence. By the end of the course, students will reach a B2.2/C1.1 level (mid/high advanced) according to the CEFR.Prerequisite: 4 semesters of college-level Spanish.
