ACADEMIC CREDIT & TRANSCRIPT

CREDIT
Most of the internships are available as a credit option through EUSA which is approved by the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Interested students must make sure that their home institution grants the credits for their chosen internship.

EUSA Accreditation: EUSA is affiliated with the University of Seville and, hence, EUSA degrees and courses are in alignment with the Spanish Ministry of Education and European Higher Education Area requisites. EUSA faculty is accredited and habilitated to teach at the Higher Education level through the University of Seville’s Venia Docendi. The student will have the option to either complete 400 hours for 6 credits, or complete 240 hours for 3 credits.

Students will be responsible to provide the requirements of the internship they want to take part in for credit transferability at their home institutions. Each student is responsible for working with SAIIE and their home institution to ensure that their credits will transfer.

NON-CREDIT
All the internships are available as a non-credit option, as an opportunity to explore and gain experience in a specific field, to improve your linguistic skills, and to interact with Spanish people. At the end of the semester/year, interns receive a certificate issued by the sponsoring institution or business.

TRANSCRIPT & CERTIFICATION
EUSA will issue an EUSA Transcript, as well as a Certification of Completion. Credits will also show on the UW-Platteville Transcript sent to our students.

FINANCIAL AID

They are many financial aid opportunities available for students studying abroad. Some may only be available to students who fit certain criteria (a particular major or location, for example), so please read the information carefully prior to applying.

INSURANCE
In addition to medical insurance which is included for all students studying at the SAIIE study abroad program, EUSA requires all interns to add a Civil Responsibility Insurance to cover any possible situations at the work-place.This type of insurance needs to be approved by both the internship company and EUSA.

Participants may opt to obtain the civil responsibility coverage themselves or through EUSA at an additional price.

Please note:
EUSA will charge a minimum of 150.00 EUR for Civil Responsibility (These prices cover the standard 4-week period, additional fees will apply for additional months).

ACCOMMODATION

All students participating in our program are placed in carefully screened Spanish homes, usually in pairs. Living in a Spanish home is one of the most important aspects of the students’ intercultural experience because it helps to improve language skills and increase cultural awareness, two key goals of the program.
