UW-La Crosse CREDIT
University of Wisconsin - La Crosse acts as our School of Record.
TRANSFER CREDIT
When you are accepted into the SAIIE program you should inform your academic advisor and study abroad office at your home campus about your intent to go abroad on our program through the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.
After being accepted into the program you will need to identify the courses you would like to take through the SAIIE program and find out what paperwork is necessary from your home campus to ensure transfer credit.
Most campuses have a document or form for you to complete. This form may be called something like "international study course approval form" or "study abroad transfer credit form." You must complete this form in full with all necessary and appropriate signatures (from academic advisors and department chairs) to ensure credit transfer.
PLEASE NOTE:
- To acquire approval, some department chairs at the students home campus may request to see course descriptions and syllabi for the courses they intend to take abroad. Please follow this link to our Study Abroad page where you will find all of our course list, descriptions and course syllabi to all of our programs.
- While all credits should be transferable, please note that if the student wish any of their courses to fulfill specific requirements for their major, minor, or general education, it is the students responsibility to seek the necessary approval from the appropriate person(s) from their home campus.
Can I Earn Credit for an Internship or Volunteering Program?
Yes! Earning academic credit is just one of the many benefits of an enriching study abroad experience. You can earn credit for interning abroad, and possibly for volunteering as well. Many of our participants seek credit for their experience abroad, so our staff has plenty of experience helping students navigate this process. Whether you need to complete a certain number of hours for your internship abroad or you need to submit supervisor evaluations, SAIIE can ensure those requirements are built into your program.
GRADING SYSTEM & TRANSCRIPTS
SAIIE GRADING SYSTEM
SAIIE students are graded according to the specified criteria in each syllabus. Generally speaking, for each course there are three exams per semester. In addition to this, there will be various quizzes, oral presentations and pieces of homework that each student must complete. All students participating in the SAIIE program will be issued a grade report upon completion of the program which will be sent to the address requested by the student.
