Course Requirements
Students:
- Must be taking ONE Language course at SAIIE
- Must be taking one or two courses at EUSA (depending on if the student is taking a 3 or 6 credit Internship)
- For Spanish classes taught at EUSA student should have a minimum of 6 semesters of Spanish college level or the equivalent to be able to follow the class in a suitable way.
- Must go through an interview process, placement test, and a follow through with EUSA
- Must have Medical insurance and Civil Responsibility Insurance
- Must have 5 semesters of Spanish to participate in the Internship Program in Spanish.
Please note: Internships where they require only English speaking might be available but depends on company and applicant.

SPA 354 Artistic Expression and Society in the Spanish-Speaking World (3 Credits) - *cannot be taken with ART 301 (3 credits)
SPA 354 Expresión Artística y Sociedad en el Mundo de Habla Española (3 crésitos)– Course Syllabus in Spanish
The main objective of this course is to introduce students to the historical, economical, artistic, social and religious aspects of Seville through its important and numerous monuments. The city itself will be the main guideline of this course. In each class meeting, students will study various artistic-architectural points of interest. Students will also be able to appreciate the cultural impact that many other cultures have left behind on the city throughout its history.
Prerequisites: 5 semesters of college-level Spanish
LAB FEE: Students will have to pay 80€ to cover all entry fees during the visits.
Spanish Civilization (3 Credits)

Code & Course Equivalency at UW-LaCrosse: SPA 353 - Perspectives on Contemporary Spain: Culture and Society.
This course offers the students a general overview of Spanish civilization from the beginning up to contemporary times. The course not only covers the development of the history in general, but it also strengthens the connection between the different structures that grow in any human community: economical activities, social and political organizations, culture, ideology, artistic, literary and religious activities. The objective is that the student understands the diversity of the country.
Prerequisite: 5 semesters of college-level Spanish.
SPA 103 Spanish in a Global Society I & II (4 Credits)
ESPAÑOL 103 EL ESPAÑOL EN UNA SOCIEDAD GLOBAL (4 Credits)– Course syllabus in Spanish
In this course the student will begin and develop their learning of Spanish as second language.
Through an active and playful methodology the student will begin to interact and communicate in Spanish. The student will realize the advantages of living in Seville to interact and learn specific vocabulary in an easy and efficient way.
Prerequisite: No prior knowledge of Spanish required.
SPA 201 Spanish Language and Cultures in Action I (4 Credits)

The main objective of the course is for students to be capable of understanding frequently used expressions and phrases related to an area of expertise where they are relevant. They will know how to communicate simple ideas and their daily routines that don´t require more than an easy exchange of information on matters that are common to them.
Students will know how to describe basic actions in the past and their surroundings as well as any matter related to an immediate need.
Prerequisite: 3 years of high-school Spanish or 2 semesters of college-level Spanish.
SPA 202 Spanish Language and Cultures in Action II (4 Credits)

Students in this course are capable of understanding the main topics in texts and in spoken Spanish if they have knowledge on the topic of the conversation- whether it´s work-related, school-related or socially related.
Students will know how to handle most situations where Spanish will be used. Students will be able to write simple and coherent texts on topics that are familiar to them or of personal interest. Students will be able to describe experiences, events, wishes and ambitions as well as explaining their opinions and plans.
Students with a good level of Spanish may take SPAN 2040 and SPAN 3050 concurrently.
Prerequisite: 4 years of high-school Spanish or 3 semesters of college-level Spanish.
SPA 221 Spanish for Healthcare Professional (3 Credits)

The student will improve their oral and written skills for effective communication in Spanish in the health field. The student will gain more confidence in interactions with patients. Student participation and reflection on sociocultural and intercultural aspects is important.
Prerequisite: 3 semesters of college-level Spanish.
SPA 309 Spanish Culture Through Art (3 Credits)
The main objective of this course is knowledge of the most important styles and figures of Spanish painting in the period spanning between the end of the 15th Century and the 20th Century.
Prerequisite: 5 semesters of college-level Spanish.
SPA 371 Business Spanish (3 Credits)
SPA 371 Español de Negocios (3 Créditos) – Course Syllabus in Spanish
The main objective of the course is for the student to acquire lexical and functional knowledge related to the business world to function in the Hispanic business world. To do this, emphasis will be placed on the specific terms used in different areas and on cultural elements.
Prerequisite: 4 semesters of college-level Spanish.
