SAIIE is very happy that we are offering a range of new courses for Summer 2016! For the Summer, we have added the following 3 new courses to our already existing list:

Artistic Monuments of Sevilla, Córdoba, and Granada
Business and Commerce of the European Union
International Marketing.

Outside of class, students go on amazing day and weekend trips around Spain and Portugal, such as the Lagos Beach Weekend Trip! Also, they participate in various activities, such as trying Spanish food, sightseeing around Seville, and meeting up with local Spaniards, who quickly become great friends. SAIIE wants you to enjoy your Summer experience in Spain to the fullest!

In light of the recent and tragic events that happened a few weeks back In Paris, I feel obligated to share this letter with you all.

First and most important, my thoughts and prayers go out to all victims of such an atrocity. I am prouder than ever to witness how Europe as a whole is showing support, strength and respect towards our French neighbors.

And second, at SAIIE your safety is our main concern. I myself understand 100% what you may be going through along with your family and friends about your semesters soon to begin.

Let me assure you that everyone in Seville, Spain and Europe has decided to continue living normally. We are not giving in to fear, the real weapon of the terrorist.

SAIIE provides all our students a 24/7 service for safety and emergency situations. Our staff is qualified and ready to handle questions that may come from your parents or friends.

The SAIIE Academic Scholarship is specifically designed for students, who have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Each scholarship is worth $1000. Enhorabuena to William Veliz on his promotion this year from Recruiter to Manager of Fulfillment for Medical Finance for TotalMed Staffing, Inc! William participated in our Study Abroad and Soccer Program in Spring 2012. He graduated from Carthage College with a BA Spanish and Marketing in 2013. He is currently working for TotalMed Staffing.

4th Annual Playa de Doñana Women´s Soccer Tournament

Our Soccer students play soccer in local Spanish teams. One of the local teams has asked us to pass on the following information.

This summer the 4th Annual Playa de Doñana Women´s Soccer Tournament will take place in Matalascañas, Huelva, Spain. The tournament dates are June 26-July 1 2016. This year there will be a new division Seniors (born before 1996) with a maximum of 8 teams.

They also offer many amazing activities for entertainment and fun during the tournament, such as visiting the Doñana National Park, riding horses on the beach in Doñana, go karting, hiking, several aquatic activities, and much more.

PDWST´s is nationally recognized. Their aim is to promote an atmosphere of good sportsmanship; where teams can compete, learn and enjoy the game of soccer.

Spring Term Application Deadline Extension!

Our Spring term application deadline has been extended to 1st November, since we are receiving a lot of late applicants this year, especially to the Sports Programs. Please remember that this Spring term we are offering the SAIIE Student Athlete Scholarship, so don´t miss out on this amazing opportunity! If you still want to apply you need to hurry!

Chelsea Rangel Alumna Academic Success as a Student-Athlete

Here at SAIIE, we like to keep up to date with our Alumni. For us they are still very much apart of the SAIIE family. Our aim is to help students reach their academic potential, and at the same encourage them to develop on a personal level, particularly through our Sports Programs.

We were looking at some of the academic records of our alumni and we were very proud to see Chelsea Rangel from the University of Dubuque, SAIIE Soccer Program Spring 2013 Participant, getting on the Dean´s List twice in a row, 2013 and 2014, during her college years! This is really impressive, because in order to achieve this you need a least a 3.5 grade point average. We hope your doing well Chelsea :)!

Here at SAIIE, we are always trying to improve and strive to be better in our academic curriculum in new and innovative ways. After we have just signed our new partnership with EUSA. One of our values is to cater to our partner universities and students needs and wishes as much as possible, as we are very grateful to them, and would not be where we are without them.

Thanks to some recent feedback, we have recently translated all our Syllabi into English, since we recognized the benefit of students and academics being able to better understand the content of the Syllabi this way.

EUSA and SAIIE partnership signed!

Our director Stuart Chipres signed a partnership with Jesús Díaz Vidal, Director of the International Bureau EUSA a few weeks ago. Special thanks goes to Sean Chipres, the Planning and Development Director at SAIIE, for establishing contact with them and setting up meetings with them. This partnership would not have been possible without him!

EUSA is a Private University College affiliated with University of Seville and, hence, their degrees and courses are in alignment with the Spanish Ministry of Education and European Higher Education Area requisites. EUSA faculty is accredited and authorized to teach at the Higher Education level through University of Seville’s Venia Docendi.

EUSA University Center is a Spanish private university college founded in 1961 and affiliated with the University of Seville since 1996. Their official undergraduate degrees include Audiovisual Communication, Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, and Tourism.

Follow our Alumnu, Chase Donley’s, soccer season at Lesley University!

Follow this fall, the soccer season of our Alumni Spring 2015 student-soccer participant at Lesley University, Chase Donley! Chase practiced weekly with the local semi-pro Spanish soccer team, through our elite soccer program during his semester abroad with us. Chase is a senior at Lesley University this year and plays in the goalkeeper position with jersey number 1.
