This Privacy Policy explains how Spanish-American Institute of International Education (SAIIE) collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit our website or contact us, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD).

- Application / programme data: information you or your home institution provide in connection with admissions, housing, health & safety or programme administration (processed as needed to deliver our services).

We do not intentionally collect special-category data through the public website unless you choose to provide it in a message. Please avoid sending sensitive information by unsecured email unless requested through a secure channel.

- SAIIE staff who need it to handle your request or programme;
- Partner institutions (for example U.S. universities or School of Record partners) when required for your programme;

- Public authorities when legally required.
We do not sell personal data.
5. International transfers
Some tools or partners may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that occurs, SAIIE relies on appropriate safeguards (such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses) as required by GDPR.
6. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above: enquiries are typically retained for a limited period after closure; programme records are kept for the duration of the relationship and any statutory retention periods; cookie/analytics data follow the periods described in the Cookie Policy.
7. Your rights
You may exercise rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, by contacting info@saiie.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
8. Security
SAIIE applies reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration. No online transmission is completely secure; please use strong passwords and care when sharing information.
9. Minors
Our programmes may involve high-school or gap-year participants. Where parental/guardian consent is required under applicable law, we will request it through the relevant application process.
10. Updates
We may update this Policy to reflect legal or operational changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised accordingly.
