PROGRAM OVERVIEW

SAIIE
Art, Business, Management & Spanish Language program.

Program focus
Choose from a selection of courses in Art, Business, Spanish, and other academic fields, taught in English and Spanish during an intensive 4-week Winterim session in Seville, Spain.

Language Requirement
No prior knowledge of Spanish required (Spanish-taught courses need 5 semester college-level Spanish except Spanish language courses).
PROGRAM DETAILS
Study in Seville during the Summer Session while earning U.S. semester credits. Students may choose to attend one 4-week session or combine both sessions for a 6-week summer experience. Each session includes one 3-credit course taught at the SAIIE Study Center or University of Seville, combining academic learning with cultural immersion and the experience of living in Spain.
Summer Course Options
Students enroll in one 3-credit course per session. Students who combine both sessions may take additional coursework, with a maximum of 9 U.S. semester credits during the summer program.

Program costs include:
- SAIIE tuition and program fees
- Airport reception and orientation
- 24/7 on-site support
- Accommodation with most meals and weekly laundry
- Welcome and farewell meals
Out-of-Pocket Costs Include:
- UW-La Crosse Education Abroad program fees and support services before, during, and after the program.
- UW-La Crosse Transcript.
- Mandatory CISI health and medical evacuation insurance.
- U.S. Passport ($135)
- Airfare (estimated at $1,200 – $1,500)
- Meals not included with accommodation (estimated at $150)
- Mandatory International Student Identification Card (ISIC) ($25)
- Local transportation (estimated at $50). However, most Spanish people walk or grab the bicycle around the city.
- School supplies and books (estimated at $10)
- Optional program activities (estimated at $300)
- Optional day trip to a beach town (estimated at $50 – $100)
- Additional travel and personal expenses (will vary based on students’ spending habits, travel plans during breaks, etc.)

Requirements
Students participating in the Summer Program must:
- Have completed at least one full-time semester of college by the start of the program
- Have sophomore standing or higher at the time of participation
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 grading scale
- Be in good academic standing at their home institution
- Enroll in at least one 3-credit summer course
Spanish Language Requirements
No prior knowledge of Spanish is required for most courses.
Students enrolling in courses taught in Spanish (excluding Spanish language courses) must have the equivalent of 5 semesters of college-level Spanish.

Academic Credit & Transcripts
The University of Wisconsin–La Crosse (UWL) serves as SAIIE’s official School of Record, awarding U.S. semester credit and issuing official transcripts for approved SAIIE coursework.

Financial Aid
Students may be eligible to use financial aid and scholarships to help fund their study abroad experience.

Language Exchange (Intercambio)
Practice your Spanish and meet local university students through SAIIE’s Intercambio Program.
