ART 301 World Art (3 credits)
The main objective of this course is to introduce students to the historical, economic, artistic, social and religious parts of Seville through its important and several monuments. Students will study about the monuments and works of art significant in relation to global art.

The actual city will be the main guideline of this course. In each class meeting students will study various artistic-architectural points of interest. Students will also be able to appreciate the cultural impact that many other cultures have left behind in the city throughout its history.

LAB FEE: Students will have to pay 80€ to cover all entry fees during the visits.

MGT 360 International Management (3 Credits)
Through this course, students will be introduced to the opportunities and challenges corporations face when doing business internationally and identify strategies and practices to manage effectively in a global environment. In particular, students will be exposed to, and encouraged to critically think about, international management topics such as the global business environment, ethics and corporate social responsibility, culture, international strategy and entry, organizational behavior across cultures, and international human resource management issues. In the end, students develop an understanding of, and appreciation for, culture and its impact on management and strategies for managing in a complex, global environment.

MGT/MKT 301 Business Communication (3 Credits)
This course explores different genres of written and oral communication employed in the business environment. Emphasis is placed on utilizing communication strategies that are tailored to both the audience and the organizational context in which the communication takes place. The ethical implications of communication within a business environment are also considered. This course develops a process approach to writing, which moves from planning through revision and final editing in producing business-related documents. Students are also introduced to communication techniques that enhance productivity within groups as well as develop the ability to write as a team and create presentations that flow seamlessly. (Cross-listed with MGT/MKT; may only earn credit in one department.)

ESS 328 Field Experience in Exercise Science (3 Credits)
Practical experience in an exercise science setting or formal observation in a clinical setting. Experiences provided may include activities such as exercise leadership, coaching, assisting with fitness assessment and exercise prescription, exercise research, clinical observation, etc. Repeatable for credit - maximum six.

Prerequisite: admission to the exercise sport science major - fitness or pre-professional emphasis.

ESS 348 Theory of Coaching (2 credits)
Theory of coaching specific competitive sports. Coaching and directing youth, club, inter-scholastic and intercollegiate sports programs. Theory of coaching the following sports will be offered on a rotational basis: baseball/softball, basketball, football, gymnastics, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field/cross country, volleyball, and wrestling. A competitive background in and fundamental knowledge of the sport is highly recommended. Repeatable for credit - maximum four.

Prerequisite: junior standing.

ESS 349 Psychology of Coaching Competitive Athletics (2 credits)
Aids the prospective coach to better understand the application of psychological concepts to the coaching of sports. Emphasis will be on the methods of improving the performance of athletes through a better understanding of the factors affecting teaching and learning in athletics.

Prerequisite: junior standing.

This course offers the students a general overview of Spanish civilization from the beginning up to contemporary times. The course not only covers the development of the history in general, but it also strengthens the connection between the different structures that grow in any human community: economical activities, social and political organizations, culture, ideology, artistic, literary and religious activities. The objective is that the student understands the diversity of the country.

Prerequisite: 5 semesters of college-level Spanish.

The main objective of this course is to introduce students to the historical, economical, artistic, social and religious aspects of Seville through its important and numerous monuments. The city itself will be the main guideline of this course. In each class meeting, students will study various artistic-architectural points of interest. Students will also be able to appreciate the cultural impact that many other cultures have left behind on the city throughout its history. Students will have to pay $50 approximately to cover entry fees during the visits.

Prerequisites: 5 semesters of college-level Spanish

LAB FEE: Students will have to pay 80€ to cover all entry fees during the visits.

SPA 103 Spanish in a Global Society I & II (4 Credits)

In this course the student will begin and develop their learning of Spanish as second language.

Through an active and playful methodology the student will begin to interact and communicate in Spanish. The student will realize the advantages of living in Seville to interact and learn specific vocabulary in an easy and efficient way.

Prerequisite: No prior knowledge of Spanish required.

SPA 201 Spanish Language and Cultures in Action I (4 Credits)

The basis of this course is to provide the students with the necessary strategies to develop their Spanish, at a medium level, in the five key skill areas of listening, reading, interacting, speaking and writing.

Specific aspects of Spanish Society and Culture will be comprehended in situ through the programmed visits.

Prerequisite: 3 years of high-school Spanish or 2 semesters of college-level Spanish.

SPA 202 Spanish Language and Cultures in Action II (4 Credits)

Throughout the course students will acquire a communication competence in line with their level of Spanish, orally as well as in writing in order to:

- Participate in conversations about family members, work, trips.
- Write a message and short texts expressing experiences, telling stories, summarizing a book or a movie.
- Understanding texts that contain basic information such as adverts, menus, timetables.

Prerequisite: 4 years of high-school Spanish or 3 semesters of college-level Spanish.
