Summer/Winterim

Summer Term

Students may participate in one of two three-week summer sessions we offer, or both (five weeks in total), enrolling in three or four credits per session.

Summer session I

Students take only one class of 3 or 4 credits. Students who wish to take both summer sessions must take one class per session.

SPAN 1010 Beginning Spanish I (4 credits)
SPAN 2040 Intensive 2nd Year Spanish Composition and Conversation (4 credits)
SPAN 3060 Intensive 3rd Year Spanish Composition and Conversation (4 credits)
SOC 3650 Gastronomy of Spain (Taught in English, 3 credits)
HIST 3370 20th Century Spanish History (3 credits)
HIST 2010 Colloquium on Spanish Culture (Taught in English, 3 credits)

Summer session II

Winterim Term

All students participating in the winterim program will take the following 3 credit course taught in English:

ART 3700 Artistic Monuments of Sevilla, Córdoba and Granada (3 credits)

This course is designed to improve the student’s knowledge of the historical, artistic, social and religious aspects of Sevilla, Córdoba and Granada. The city itself is used as the main classroom or textbook for this course, as the students will visit different places every day that have made these cities so important in Spanish history and art. The students will also be able to appreciate the cultural and architectural impact of diverse cultures that have been imposed in Andalucía over the centuries.
