"I would definitely recommend Glamping Hub as a place for interns from SAIIE to go and experience all that I have and more!"

I was not only able to work with the direct team, but also the CEO David Troya, who has been featured in many media outlets the last four years for the work he has done. It was a great experience to see someone with a start up business mind set and first hand experience. I would have to say the real life experience gained and interaction with others was the best part of the internship.

From creating social media posts to figuring out SEO language to creating collections, I now have many new skills to take home with me. All of these opportunities have taught me a lot of what goes on behind the scenes for any company, but specifically to a company that is web based and the amount of work it takes to create all of the material. I would definitely recommend Glamping Hub as a place for interns from SAIIE to go and experience all that I have and more!

"I think this job has improved my Spanish and I am going to miss the job, the guests that are from different places, and the other receptionists."

I have worked at the Boutike Hostel from the beginning of February until the end of April and I think that my experience is one that I will never forget. I met many guests from different places like Canada, Belgium, Germany, France, and Italy to name a few of them. All of the receptionists were very patient and understanding and made the computer system easy to learn. All of the receptionists made sure the job did not feel like a job and this is what I liked. I worked with people that made the environment feel more like a family. I liked that the hotel was a small business.

This job allowed me to test my Spanish and my ability to learn something new in another language and in a new situation. I have enjoyed learning new things by working at the hostel. I think this job has improved my Spanish and I am going to miss the job, the guests that are from different places, and the other receptionists.

"Interning at the Boutike Hostel truly has been an enlightening experience and I am excited to use my newly acquired skills at my family’s hotel back home."

Throughout this past semester, I have been interning at the Boutike Hostel. It has been a great experience to have this opportunity to intern at the hostel. I am grateful for this experience and for the people that I have met while working there. I was able to meet people from all over the world, and learn about their reasons for travelling. Interning at the Boutike Hostel truly has been an enlightening experience and I am excited to use my newly acquired skills at my family’s hotel back home. I am thankful for this opportunity that I have had, as well as for the people that I have met during my time at the internship and my time here in Spain.

"My time working for SAIIE was the best 9 months of my life!"

I worked as an intern in the Planning and Development Department for SAIIE for 9 months. My job was the Planning and Development Assistant for Sean Chipres, the Planning and Development Director as well as the Coordinator of Sports Programs. There was never a second, where I wanted to work for another person, in another department, or for another company!

I was given a variety of tasks to do, such as I was responsible for all social media, contacting coaches and students, responding to coaches and students questions, creating and updating databases, doing market research, improving website content, developing the Sports programs and Faculty-led programs, and so much more. Every day at SAIIE was a new adventure and interesting! I was never asked to make coffee or do the photocopying.

I improved my Spanish and learnt more about the Spanish culture. I feel that I have developed personally and professionally from this experience, as I have grown as a person and I have learnt valuable skills that will help me in my future career.

My time working for SAIIE was the best 9 months of my life! I have so much respect for all the SAIIE team, particularly my boss. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I became so close to the SAIIE team that I consider them my Spanish family!

"Thanks to my internship at Glamping Hub I now have a better idea of what kind of career I would like to have/ or would be good at."

I have greatly enjoyed my past eight weeks working and learning at Glamping Hub, a company that specializes in providing travelers across the world with glamorous accommodation in nature. I have learned both tangible skills and useful information for the future, as well as meeting many new people and establishing networking connections for the future.

My work consisted mainly of writing content for the company’s website. Another valuable takeaway from this internship was a new sense of confidence regarding my writing style and ability. Thanks to my internship at Glamping Hub I now have a better idea of what kind of career I would like to have/ or would be good at. I also now have a good idea of what kind of office environment I would like to work at and what type of company culture I would like to be a part of. I would highly recommend this internship to any future SAIIE students; the only regret I have is that I didn’t have more time to learn and work at this company.

"I cannot imagine how a business (or otherwise) student could come here, with an opportunity for international work experience, and not take it!"

Throughout my time at Glamping Hub, I have had the chance to learn valuable tools that will help me further my career. Within the first few hours of my first day, I knew that this job would challenge me in the best way possible. Since Glamping Hub is a start-up company, there is a lot of room for growth and forging your own path within the company.

I think that the culture of Glamping Hub was also a good one. The way the office was set up, they really encouraged their employees to be part of a team and hold meetings to ensure that everyone in their office has a good understanding of how people spend their day. In my future job, I will look for work environments where the company spends this sufficient amount of time trying to ensure a good work atmosphere.

So what did I think of my overall experience with Glamping Hub? I thought it was a great experience! I cannot imagine how a business (or otherwise) student could come here, with an opportunity for international work experience, and not take it! While some days I was so tired I didn’t want to go to work, or I just wanted to go get tapas and wine with my friends, I would not change this experience for the world. I think this internship will help me so much in my future. It not only will make my resume look better for future employees, I have a better and more rounded mind and experience. I would not have changed my decision to have this internship. Looking back, I know I will always look back on my experience with Glamping Hub with positive memories. I have learned a lot that will help to further my career, not only within the United States, but internationally as well. I have gained tangible knowledge that will allow me to succeed and share my understandings with others as I move along within my career path.

"This experience has taught me that I have the ability to effectively communicate and work in Spanish."

The time I spent at the Boutike Hostel has given me the opportunity to better my Spanish. It is fantastic for this because it allows me to work through both hard and easy situations in another language. This experience has taught me that I have the ability to effectively communicate and work in Spanish. I wanted to use my Spanish in an environment completely surrounded in Spanish and my two hours a week at the Boutike Hostel has allowed me to gain confidence in my Spanish. I know that my experience at the Boutike Hostel added to my experience in Spain. I am happy with the time that I spent there in order to better my language. I had the opportunity to work and express myself in another language and it was the best.
