PLEASE NOTE:

Interested students should apply as soon as they have determined that the program will meet their personal and academic goals. Qualified candidates are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Notification of acceptance is sent approximately 10 days after all application materials have been received.

Eligibility

Program requirements:

  • A student must have at least sophomore standing at the time of participation.
  • A student must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA (semester applicants)* or 2.25 GPA (winterim or summer applicants)**
  • A student must be in good academic standing at the time of participation.
  • No prior knowledge of Spanish is required except for the Intensive Spanish Language program where a student must have 2-3 years of high-school Spanish or 1 semester college – level Spanish. 

*If your GPA is below 2.5, you are not automatically disqualified from studying abroad. Please contact the SAIIE Resident Director, Mr. Stuart Chipres at director@saiie.com for more information.

Please notice this information, only applies, to US College students who are applying to our program directly through the SAIIE Program. 

How long does it take to get accepted?
It generally takes 5 business days after the application deadline to notify you of your acceptance.

Should I wait to submit all my application documents at the same time?
No. Turn in every form as it is completed in any order. We will keep all forms from you together until your file is complete.

What if I'm not sure about when I want to go, can you keep my application on file?
Yes. You only need to apply once. You only need to pay a one-time application fee. We will keep your application on file until you decide when you want to go.

How do I know if a part of my application has been received or not?

How many participants do you take in the program?
Due to the high quality program that we want to provide we do no allow more than 50 participants. We do encourage students to apply as early as possible due to high enrolement.

Can I still apply if I have below a 2.5 GPA?
All applications will be considered. However, we may request additional information to assess your candidacy.

Can I still apply a few days after the deadline?
Yes you can but please contact the Resident Director, Mr. Stuart Chipres at director@saiie.com

How do I send all the forms?
Once you have completed all the forms you can scan them and send them by email to the Program Manager, Mr. Sean Chipres, at seanrc@saiie.com

To send any materials by post you do not have to send to anyones attention in particular. Simply use the following mailing address:

Can I use my home school's application forms?
While we prefer you use the SAIIE official application forms, we have made exceptions to permit use of a student's home school's application forms. Please check with the SAIIE Study Abroad Program to make sure your home school's application forms are sufficient.

Is the application fee refundable?
No, the application fee is not refundable.

Is the application fee part of the program price?
Yes, the application fee is part of the overall program fee.

Is it okay that my application forms arrive before the application fee?
Yes, you can submit all parts of the application without paying the application fee; however, your file will not be reviewed until the application fee is paid.
